Techno is a form of electronic dance music that was developed in Detroit, Michigan, during the mid to late 1980s. The term 'techno' derives from the word 'technology', and is a direct reference to the electronic instruments and devices used to create this strain of electronic music. Techno features a large number of percussive synthetic electronic sounds and is mainly instrumental. Many styles of techno now exist, but Detroit techno, a genre of its own, is seen as the foundation of techno music.

Some of your different techno music styles are Acid, Detroit, Free tekno, Ghettotech, Jtek, Minimal, Nortec, Schranz, Tech house, Tech trance, Wonky and Yorkshire Bleeps and Bass.
